Ilhan Omar’s Sister Questioned as RICO Case Investigation Expands!

· Gent Goldstein

Federal investigators have reportedly questioned Rep. Ilhan Omar’s older sister as the immigration fraud investigation surrounding the Minnesota Democrat intensifies, raising further questions about a case that has now reached the congresswoman’s own family.

The investigation took a significant turn last week when Sahra Noor voluntarily spoke with federal investigators following a pre-dawn raid on Omar’s Washington, D.C., residence, according to three sources familiar with the matter who spoke to Fox News Digital.

The questioning marks another development in a widening federal investigation examining whether Omar or her father falsified information on her citizenship paperwork.

Noor, who came to the United States as a child fleeing Somalia’s civil war, currently lives in Kenya, according to her LinkedIn profile. She has been visiting the United States to promote her new book, Salt in the Snow: A Somali Immigrant Story.

Her scheduled October 15 appearance at the University of Minnesota Rochester was canceled amid the investigation. The bookstore promoting the event initially attributed the cancellation to a “family emergency.” The reported interview with investigators subsequently brought renewed attention to the cancellation.

Investigators have not publicly disclosed the scope of Noor’s interview, and her questioning does not establish that she or Omar committed any wrongdoing.

FEDERAL AGENTS RAID OMAR’S WASHINGTON HOME

Two officials in dark clothing carry boxes labeled 'SEIZED PROPERTY EVIDENCE' outside a house with caution tape in the background and a black SUV parked nearby.

Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the investigative arm of the Department of Homeland Security, executed a search warrant at Omar’s residence at approximately 6 a.m. last Monday, according to the report.

Sources familiar with the investigation said federal authorities are examining whether information submitted by Omar or her father during the citizenship process was falsified.

The reported search represents a major escalation in the scrutiny facing the congresswoman, whose immigration history has come under renewed examination.

According to The Wall Street Journal, investigators seized Omar’s personal phone, passport and computer during the raid. Her attorneys subsequently demanded that the Justice Department return some of the confiscated property.

The New York Times also reported that approximately a dozen people, including Omar’s relatives, have been subpoenaed in connection with the investigation.

DENATURALIZATION COULD BECOME AN ISSUE IF ALLEGATIONS ARE PROVEN

Border czar Tom Homan said over the weekend that if the allegations are proven, they could potentially lead to Omar’s denaturalization.

Such an outcome would represent an extraordinary development for a sitting member of Congress. However, denaturalization requires a legal basis and proceedings under applicable law; the existence of an investigation alone does not establish grounds for revoking citizenship.

Federal investigators have not announced a final determination, and no conclusion about Omar’s guilt should be drawn before the evidence is evaluated.

OMAR ACCUSES TRUMP ADMINISTRATION OF POLITICAL RETALIATION

Omar has responded to the raid by accusing President Donald Trump’s administration of abusing federal law enforcement to target a political opponent.

In a statement posted to X hours after agents arrived at her residence, Omar described the operation as an “outrageous abuse of power” and claimed the investigation was politically motivated.

She also insisted that she had done nothing wrong and accused Trump of escalating his longstanding criticism of her.

However, Vice President JD Vance rejected claims that the investigation was politically motivated in an interview with Fox News Digital last Tuesday.

“We really want to let the law, the facts drive this,” Vance said, emphasizing that the administration did not want federal law enforcement to operate as it allegedly had under President Joe Biden.

He added that the administration would take appropriate action if the facts and the requirements of justice warranted it.

TRUMP ADMINISTRATION SAYS THE FACTS MUST DRIVE THE INVESTIGATION

The investigation presents a serious test of Omar’s public claims that she has been unfairly targeted by the president. Rather than accepting either side’s political characterization as proof, investigators will need to establish what the relevant documents show and whether any applicable laws were violated.

Omar has not been seen publicly since before the raid, according to the report, and she has not responded to Fox News Digital’s repeated requests for comment. Her husband has reportedly been seen outside the residence on several occasions.

For the Trump administration, the stated position is that the investigation must follow the evidence, regardless of the political consequences.

For Omar, the expanding inquiry and the reported questioning of her sister add another layer of scrutiny as federal investigators examine her immigration history.

THE BOTTOM LINE: The reported questioning of Omar’s sister, the search of the congresswoman’s residence and the subpoenas involving relatives indicate that the federal investigation extends beyond a single individual. But the central questions remain unanswered: whether investigators can establish that citizenship paperwork was falsified, who may have been responsible, and whether the evidence supports further legal action.

The investigation is ongoing, and no finding of immigration fraud or basis for denaturalization has been established in the information provided.
