President Trump Says He Has “A Lot of Information” on Former Democrat Leaders, Revealing He Previously Chose Not to Pursue Hillary Clinton

President Donald Trump delivered a pointed message to former President Bill Clinton, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and former President Barack Obama, declaring that he could still pursue criminal investigations against the three prominent political figures. During a Thursday interview with Newsmax host Rob Finnerty, Trump claimed he possesses “a lot of information” on the former officials and revealed that he previously chose not to pursue Hillary Clinton despite claiming he had opportunities to do so.

Trump’s comments put the spotlight back on his long-running battles with prominent Democratic figures and his position that he retains the ability to pursue potential wrongdoing involving former government officials. However, the president did not disclose the specific information he claims to possess or announce any new criminal investigations against the Clintons or Obama.

TRUMP SAYS HE COULD STILL TAKE ACTION

During the Newsmax interview, Trump made clear that he believes he still has the option to pursue action against the former Democratic leaders.

“I could have done numbers on Hillary Clinton, I could have done numbers on Bill Clinton, I do like Bill Clinton,” Trump said.

The president then specifically mentioned Obama, stating that he could still pursue action against the former president.

“I could have done numbers on Barack Hussein Obama, still could, I still could. I could do big numbers if I wanted to. I turned down going after Hillary Clinton,” Trump continued.

When Finnerty pressed him on what he meant by “big numbers,” Trump explained that he was referring to the possibility of pursuing criminal cases or damaging their reputations.

Trump did not provide further details about the alleged information or identify specific criminal conduct by any of the three former officials.

TRUMP SAYS HE PREVIOUSLY CHOSE NOT TO PURSUE HILLARY CLINTON

One of the most significant revelations from the interview was Trump’s assertion that he previously declined opportunities to go after Hillary Clinton.

The president has faced years of political conflict with the former secretary of state, who ran against him in the 2016 presidential election. His latest remarks suggest that, in his view, he had opportunities to pursue her but elected not to do so.

Trump did not specify which potential investigations he was referring to or provide details about when those decisions were made.

When asked whether he would actually pursue the former officials, Trump indicated that he probably would not, although he did not completely rule out the possibility.

The president also raised the prospect of being impeached for a third time, saying, “I guess not, probably not, but I think if they impeach me, again,” before changing the subject.

DOJ HAS PURSUED MULTIPLE HIGH PROFILE CASES

The Trump administration’s Justice Department has pursued investigations and prosecutions involving several prominent figures, including individuals Trump and his allies have viewed as political opponents.

New York Attorney General Letitia James faced federal charges after previously winning a civil case against Trump while he was out of the White House.

Former FBI Director James Comey was indicted twice, including in a case dismissed by a judge who ruled that the prosecutor had been unlawfully appointed.

The Justice Department also pursued a case against six Democratic lawmakers who appeared in a video instructing members of the military not to follow illegal orders. A grand jury declined to indict them.

Other figures investigated by the administration have included Democratic Senator Adam Schiff, former Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, and Federal Reserve board member Lisa Cook. Trump attempted to remove Cook from her position, but the Supreme Court blocked that effort.

The administration also secured a conviction against former Trump national security adviser John Bolton, who pleaded guilty in June to charges involving the unlawful retention of sensitive documents.

The outcomes of these cases have varied, with some resulting in prosecutions and others facing legal setbacks or failing to produce indictments.

LATEST MIDTERM UPDATE

TRUMP LEAVES THE DOOR OPEN

Trump’s latest remarks do not establish that criminal cases against the Clintons or Obama are imminent. The president did not announce a formal investigation, identify specific charges, or provide evidence supporting his claims about the information he possesses.

Nevertheless, his comments underscore his continuing willingness to publicly challenge former Democratic leaders and raise questions about whether additional action could follow.

For now, Trump has indicated that he probably will not pursue the three former officials, while making clear that he believes he retains the option to do so.

The interview leaves one major question unanswered: What information does Trump say he possesses, and will any of it lead to further action?

BOTTOM LINE: President Trump says he previously chose not to pursue Hillary Clinton and claims he still has information concerning the Clintons and Barack Obama. While he has not announced new investigations, his comments renew attention on his confrontations with former Democratic leaders and the broader legal battles surrounding his administration.
