The Trump Administration Touts 3 Million Deportations and Border Apprehensions Plummet 94%!

President Donald J. Trump’s immigration crackdown has resulted in more than 3 million illegal immigrant departures from the United States since he returned to office, according to figures cited by the Department of Homeland Security, as the administration reports 16 consecutive months with zero illegal aliens released at the border.
The administration also reports that southwest border apprehensions fell 94% in August compared with the monthly average under former President Joe Biden, highlighting the dramatic shift in border enforcement under Trump’s second-term policies.
MORE THAN 3 MILLION ILLEGAL ALIENS HAVE LEFT THE UNITED STATES
The Trump administration says more than 3 million illegal immigrants have left the country since Trump returned to the White House, including an estimated 2.5 million departures previously reported by DHS.
According to the administration’s economic analysis, maintaining the reported pace of departures through 2029 could reduce federal spending by an estimated $26.7 billion to $33.7 billion annually.
The administration is using these figures to argue that immigration enforcement can reduce the financial burden associated with illegal immigration while restoring control over the nation’s borders.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has recorded 16 consecutive months with zero illegal aliens released at the border, according to DHS.
The administration also reports that southwest border apprehensions were down 94% in August compared with the monthly average under Biden.

- ICE’s workforce increased from 10,000 to 22,000 officers and agents, more than doubling its reported size.
- Drug seizures increased 73% during the current fiscal year through August compared with the same period in fiscal year 2024.
- More than 157,000 migrant children located, according to figures cited by the administration.
The administration credits its expanded enforcement operations, increased staffing, and border security funding with supporting its immigration crackdown.

WHITE HOUSE WARNS OF $49 TRILLION PRICE TAG FOR DEMOCRAT-ALIGNED POLICIES
Alongside its border enforcement figures, the Trump administration is highlighting a Council of Economic Advisers report estimating that adopting the Democratic Socialists of America’s major policy proposals could cost taxpayers $49 trillion over ten years.
The report estimates that expanding eligibility for public assistance following mass amnesty could increase annual federal spending on SNAP, HUD housing assistance, and Medicaid by a combined $36 billion to $47 billion.
Over ten years, those three programs alone could add an estimated $361 billion to $475 billion in federal spending, according to the report.
The White House argues that its immigration enforcement approach could reduce federal spending pressures, while warning that expanded amnesty and government benefits could create additional long-term costs.
TRUMP ADMINISTRATION POINTS TO EXPANDED ENFORCEMENT
The administration is also highlighting the Laken Riley Act, expanded border security funding, efforts to combat fentanyl trafficking, and changes to temporary protected status as components of its broader immigration agenda.
CBP reportedly seized 73% more drugs during the current fiscal year through August than during the same period in fiscal year 2024. The administration also points to arrests targeting gang members and suspected terrorists as part of its efforts to combat criminal activity.
THE BOTTOM LINE: The Trump administration reports that more than 3 million illegal immigrants have left the United States since the president returned to office, alongside 16 consecutive months with zero illegal aliens released at the border and a 94% decline in southwest border apprehensions compared with the monthly average under Biden. The administration says its enforcement strategy is intended to strengthen border security, combat criminal networks, and reduce taxpayer costs.
